Part of the reconstruction of IL-104 bridge over the Illinois River at Morgan and Pike Counties, Washington Street bridge is located along the east approach of the new river crossing in Meredosia, IL.

Structural Engineer for the design and construction plan development of a new single span bridge (SN 069-0522) that carries IL 104 over Washington St. at Meredosia and 2 new MSE walls (SN 069-7900 and SN 069-7901) with precast panels at the east and west approach of the single span bridge. The new bridge consists of a typical 8 inch concrete deck composite with W27 beams supported on pile bent abutments. The bridge width tapers from 55 ft. to 58 ft. wide and spans 59.5 ft. The flanking MSE Retaining Walls are back to back along IL 104 and wrap around the bridge abutments. The wall heights vary from 32.0ft to 3.5ft and include anchorage slabs with parapets and railings. The wall panels at the corners of the single span Washington Street bridge were constructed with decorative precast pilasters and required careful detailing for connections to the abutments.
